Who We Are
SBMP is an alliance of 20 independently-owned insurance agencies that operate in 37 different locations in Texas. Due to the geographic diversity and the collective amount of premium generated by these agencies, SBMP collaborates with many of the most highly-regarded insurance carriers in today’s market. SBMP targets like-minded independent agency owners whose goal is to grow and perpetuate successful insurance agencies. Most of our member agencies are family-owned and multi-generational. We’re here for the long haul.

How We Started
Our story began with a shared vision
SBMP was started in 1988 by three independent insurance agencies in the Texas Panhandle looking to counter the challenges of capacity, pricing & access in the insurance market of that time. Joe Bob Mayo from Petersburg, Keith Brashear in Hale Center, and Wayne Perrin and Ben Sims from Lubbock founded SBMP with a vision to combine agent resources, insurance carrier capacity, and industry expertise to provide every individual agency with the most competitive advantages in an increasingly challenging marketplace.
